WEAR ME!!! takes
place between 1st and 8th December 2002, and explores
all aspects of Wearable Computing and Smart Textiles. |

WEAR ME!!! brings
the txOom PlaySpace
by international art/science collective FoAm to the
Circus Space Hippodrome, Great Yarmouth from 1st - 8th
December 2002.
Inside
txOom, participants (from aged 5 years upwards) can
take a journey into the media worlds of 'textiles in
bloom' through wearing garments using body sensing technologies
and active fabrics.

Speech by renowned artist/technologist, Thecla Schiphorst
(Canada) on future visions of digital body interface.

In and around WEAR
ME!!! Network Exchange, Future
Physical will also present commissioned
works as presentations, performances, exhibitions,
process demos and installations including the first
showing of Canadian artist, Nicholas Stedman's The Blanket
Project.

Come
along to the Circus Space Hippodrome marketplace at
The Forum in Norwich on Saturday 7th December to view
new smart clothing and digital accessories, plus test
prototypes and see experiments by artists and industry.

The
Wearable Computing content area will explore emerging technologies,
our research and practice is focused around what we will be
wearing in the future including; new clothes created from
the mixing of electronic and textile technology, sensor textiles,
miniature and portable computing devices worn about the body
serving specific and useful functions, wearable media systems,
wireless connectivity that sends data to collection points.
This
element of Future Physical will culminate in the
WEAR ME!!!’ Network Exchange, a
series of events including the tx0om
responsive PlaySpace for children and families, the WEAR ME!!!
InterChange gatherings for specialist exchange/debate with
talks and demos by artists, fashion and computing experts
, workshops and a Wearables Marketplace designed to engage
the public with present and future developments in this field.
