PROJECT NAME: Alter - Ego

ARTISTIC COLLABORATORS: Alf Linney

Form: Reactive Object
PROJECT SITE: http://www.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/mgi/alexa/alteregopg.html
Alter Ego is a Future Physical Research Commission, supported by a New Technology Arts Fellowship (The Junction, Kettles Yard and Crucible) at Cambridge University and Future Physical with in kind sponsorship from Digimask. Research and production supported by The Arts Council of England National Touring Programme and a Welcome Trust Impact Award

project description:

A research project to create an interactive digital installation. The completed work will take the form of what appears to be a mirror, in which a “virtual” reflection of the participant will be created. What initially appears to be a reflection will take on a life of its own, reacting to the facial expressions of the participant. Alter Ego will ask its audience to consider the idea of separate entities within the self, and during Future Physical demo presentations, invite audiences to question the various facets of their own identity.
