Colchester Town Hall - Moot Hall

An open access session for public questions and answers including summary of debate arising from gathering of twenty artists and scientists from the Future Physical BIO-TECH Network Exchange led by internationally renowned artist/scientists, Sara Diamond, Jane Prophet, Daniel Glaser and Nina Czgledy. Moderated by Ghislaine Boddington.

Colchester Town Hall - Mayors Parlour

The Mayor of Colchester will welcomes the ECO-TECH Network Exchange participants and international artists. A reception for all InterChange participants.

The keynote speech by Japanese new media artist Masaki Fujihata expresses a Japanese view of nature and explores technology as a mirror of self reflection.

Reception for the Future Physical commissions exhibiting at firstsite. For ECO-TECH participants and VIP's only.


AFTERNOON | EXHIBITION VISIT - gallery open until 8pm

Opportunity to visit the BIO-TECH and ECO-TECH Future Physical commissions at firstsite. An exhibition of Future Physical commissions ranging from virtual online environments to reactive objects around the themes of bio-technology and eco-technology.

Featuring works by Jane Prophet and Neil Theise, Stanza, Philip Warnell, Catherine Watling, Rachel Wingfield and Japanese new media artist, Masaki Fujihata.


20.00 | UNINVITED GUESTS
Colchester Arts Centre
There is the option to go to a performance by Uninvited Guests, programmed by Colchester Arts Centre. Uninvited guests pull the plug and work offline, exploring what happens when texts written to be read on the web are spoken face to face with an audience.



The ECO-TECH Network Exchange is a co-production between Future Physical, Firstsite, Colchester Arts Centre and Signals Media Arts.

Future Physical is a cultural programme co-conceived by shinkansen and East England Arts, produced by Future Physical Ltd/shinkansen for East England Arts.
